Spearfishing, diving & snorkelling

Hi, we are staying for 7 nights in Port Villa from mid December. Can anyone recommend any day trips for spearfishing? We would like to join a group rather than hire a whole boat ourselves. Also are there any dives and people can just snorkel as well? My partner dives but I cannot but can snorkel. Or is it better for him to go out on a day trip on his own for the better dive sites? Any advice would be much appreciated.

We did stay at Hideaway resort a few years ago and were able to snorkel while the dive boat was doing its dives. not sure if they still offer that facility.
It was a bit scary though as once they dropped us at one sea mount and motored to another some distance away and we just had to swim to the new spot over open ocean by ourselves.
Just back from our second trip to Vanuatu last weekend but stayed at Iririki this time.
I noted that most of the snorkel trips just came to Iririki and the snorkeling was nothing wonderful, poor visibility and too many lighters coming through the snorkel area picking up and dropping back tourists to the cruise ships 3 days out of seven.
