vanuatu ideas?

Hi everyone and anyone,
My partner and I are looking at flights to Vanuatu some time this year.
Just looking for some top adice from other backpackers that like independent travelling.
We would like to see some of the islands and hang on the beaches. But we would aslo like to go canyoning, diving, snorkeling, hire mopeds, eat at great local places and whatever else that there is to do there.
We will probably only have teo weeks, but we dont mind being on the go! What Islands are a must? Can we just book boats from one Island to the next? Do we have to book accomodation in advance the whole time or can we just wing it some of the time? How many Auzzie dollars a day do you think each?
