Vanuatu in Dec/Jan

Hi, I was planning to go to Vanuatu for New Years, but know it is the wet season.
Has anyone been there during the end of Dec/ begining of Jan and can tell me if it's really bad or is it still great there?

It rains roughly every second day at about 2 - 4 pm. Most mornings are sunny so you should plan on getting out early. You won't be alone as the streets are full of people at 6 am. Don't take good shoes. There will be mud. Umbrellas are only 500 in Chinatown.

Iririki puts on pretty good fireworks at about 9 pm New Year's Eve. You will get a great view from the park in the middle of the main street.
