Vanuatu in Nov - Dec

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

looking to travel to Vanuatu/ New Caledonia after uni this year so cant go till NOV during the wet season..

Is it worth going then, despite the non desirable weather?

I will be mainly going for diving, hiking and other outdoor adventures.

Advice would be great :) THANKS!!

Generally in the wet season in the tropics, it rains very heavily in the afternoon, but most mornings are fine. This is a big generalisation, as if there is a cyclone in the area, it will be wet all the time, and the 2012-3 summer has been unusually wet.
However, island countries have many micro-climates, and there will be some areas that will be relatively dry. I know more sppecifically about Solomon Islands, but Vanuatu is very similar.

I was in Vanuatu in Nov-Dec myself and found it perfectly fine.
Its rainy season was less rainy than that of Fiji, and far less so than in Samoa.

so its worth taking advantage of cheap fights then? I imagine it'd still be beautiful regardless
