Vanuatu - the same as...Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu
I know this will sound VERY ignorant and I apologise if I offend. Is Vanuatu and Fiji similiar - in beaches, countryside, cities? I have been to Fiji and wondering if I should travel to Vanuatu. Thanks in advance for your help.
No, they are VERY different! As for the culture overall, Fiji feels more like Polynesia or India (depending on where you are), while Vanuatu is very Melanesian. Regarding scenery, I found Vanuatu much more lush and green, with none of the huge plantations you see in Fiji. Culturally, Vanuatu feels much more traditional and friendlier than Fiji. | 1
Totally agree with Laszlo | 2
I agree, as well...but doesn't Suva remind you of Port Vila (the non-downtown touristy area of Part Vila, I mean)? | 3
Not me for sure. | 4 | |
