Visitor's Extension, Mosquito nets, Banking in Vanuatu

Is there a bank on Vanua Lava? One site said "No." Other info seemed to say one might be in construction. I'm anxious about carrying large cash around places like Tanna and the Banks islands. One gets the impression that a month on Vanua Lava (for example) entails having a month's worth of cash--a touch risky.

Does $6000 U.S. (after air fare) sound like a reasonable budget for 4 months in Vanuatu? Thanks kindly in advance for any advice. Cheers.

This is a good question. I dislike having to carry large sums of $$, but there really is no other option in the remote places of Vanuatu.

And what do you do with the $$ when you go snorkelling?
