Would you recommend staying in Port Vila for 8 days.

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Vanuatu

My husband and I are planning a trip to Port Vila in April with our 12 month old. We travelled a lot pre baby but this trip we would like to take it easy, eat nice food and go to the beach. We will fly into Port Vila and we would like to stay there if it's nice. Can we stay there all week? Are there nice beaches, restaurants, hotels?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

We stayed in Vila some years ago when kids were smaller (but not babies) and really enjoyed our stay.at the Le Meridian.

The locals, like all Pacific Islandrs are wonderful with kids and babies

Vila is very quiet which should suit, I'm guessing

Depends on what you like to do, but we found plenty. Thgerte are some nice beaches, great food and good hotels, yes.

Personally I would do some island hoping while in Vanuatu, which can be organized on the ground.

Note that the main road in Port Vila is astonishingly busy even during the middle of the night, so you may want to stay in a hotel away from the main drag.

If you stay at a resort you'll find plenty to do in relative comfort.

I would also normally recommend some island hopping, but with a 12 month old I would avoid it due to malaria risk.
