Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Wallis and Futuna Islands

Hello everyone I am a graphic design student who is doing a project on Wallis and Futuna. If anyone can answer these questions for me I would appreciate it tremendously.

The project I am doing is to create stamps, ads, logo, flag, and currency for Wallis et Futuna. To do this I would like to capture the spirit of the island and make it as relatable as possible to the people.

My first question is,
Do you have any suggestions as to what colors best represent Wallis et Futuna.? For example the United States is known for red white and blue.

  1. What kind of spirit do the people of your country have? Are they kind, soft, strong, resilient, a mixture of all?

  2. Are there any buildings or landmarks that visitors love or your people have a close connection with?

  3. Are there any special events, holidays, dates, festivals?

  4. Is there any symbolic animal or person who represents the country? For example the U.S. has the bald eagle.

If you google images of their rugby team you will see what color represents them.

I would google the stamps of Wallis and Futuna, as they would give you lots of ideas.
I was there briefly on a cruise last year. The people are strong and resilient, joyful and friendly. Polynesian, with some Europeans.
The houses are distinctive, as are the outrigger canoes.
It is a very isolated country, so the people are resourceful. They are also strongly catholic.
Predominant colours would be the blue of the sea and the sky, and the green of the tropical vegetation.
